[Event] We Held the “3-University SPRING Joint Research Presentation & Workshop”

On February 26 and 27, 2026, our university co-hosted the “3-University SPRING Joint Research Presentation & Workshop” with Aoyama Gakuin University and Chuo University.
SPRING students from the three universities gathered to not only present their research but also to deepen their interactions across university and disciplinary boundaries through lectures and workshops.

[Day 1] Research Presentations & Lectures
■ Research Presentations (Posters)
SPRING students from the three universities presented the progress and results of their ongoing research in poster format.
Participants engaged in lively discussions, providing an opportunity to reexamine their research from the perspectives of different fields of expertise.
■ Lectures
We invited representatives from Central Japan Railway Company and Keio Corporation to speak on the theme of “Urban Development Initiatives by Railway Companies.”
We gained insights into social implementation, including the relationship between railways and local communities and actual initiatives being undertaken.

[Day 2] Workshop
We held a workshop on the theme of “Considering Urban Development Around the Sagamihara Linear Station.”
Participants formed groups with members from different universities and fields, engaged in extensive discussions, and then presented their findings.
By bringing together the expertise each had cultivated through their respective research, the workshop provided a forum for considering the future of the region from multiple perspectives.

[Summary]
This collaborative initiative among the three universities marked a significant step forward for doctoral students in connecting their research to society. By engaging in dialogue with peers from different universities and fields of study, students gained opportunities to reexamine their research from new angles and develop fresh perspectives and a heightened awareness of societal challenges.
Furthermore, the experience of pooling their specialized knowledge to tackle problems through collaborative work in the workshops helped them cultivate skills that will be vital for their future careers.
Such learning opportunities, born from inter-university collaboration, not only expand the potential of doctoral students but also serve as an initiative that demonstrates a new model for research to evolve alongside society.
Moving forward, the three universities will continue to collaborate to create opportunities for students to contribute to society through their research and aim to build a richer learning environment.
