【Event】SPRING Students Share the Appeal of Graduate Studies at Sophia University Open Campus

During Sophia University’s Open Campus held on August 4 and 5, 2026, we held a session titled “Beyond Learning! How Will Your Future Change If You Go to Graduate School?” for high school students and their parents to introduce the appeal of graduate school and the support systems available for graduate research activities.

During the session, we provided an overview of Sophia University’s Graduate School’s distinctive features, including its interdisciplinary research environment—where the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences are all brought together on a single campus—its extensive international research network, and its various support programs for doctoral student development.
We introduced financial support, professional development programs, international research and exchange opportunities, and career support through the Sophia SPRING Project. This helps participants understand the supportive environment that enables graduate students to focus on their research.
Four SPRING students also gave presentations on their research, the experiences they gained through the SPRING program, and the appeal of graduate school life. They shared insights from their own experiences, including how research grants and financial support create an environment in which they can fully devote themselves to their research, opportunities to engage with researchers from diverse disciplines, and experiences participating in overseas training programs and international conferences.

We will continue to widely promote the appeal of graduate school and the research environment with the aim of fostering the next generation of researchers and highly specialized professionals.
